Modern Medicine Co (冇遁藥房) is a fabricated medicine company inspired by traditional Chinese medicine. The design references the vibrant visual culture and history of Chinese medicine packaging found in Hong Kong. Meanwhile the contents provide commentary on the various social and environmental issues (or 'ailments') that plague those who live in Hong Kong.
This series was created as an Independent Study Project at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and exhibited in the Illustration Studies Building (ISB) Paper Gallery in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. All designs (including the design of the exhibition space) were produced and created by Adrienne Hugh.
