I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take a traditional shoemaking class this fall. These shoes are the first ones I ever made, and are the result of a time-intensive but immensely satisfying process. Everything but the stitches on the topline of the shoe was done by hand.

My goal was to create a playful pump that was still sophisticated enough to be worn in a more formal context. The interplay between the sole and the color-blocked leather references peanut butter and jelly on toast.

Materials: chrome-tanned and vegetable tanned leather, thread, contact cement
