To explore the interplay of garments and dimensionality, I chose to work with lingerie--specifically bralettes--for the reason that they are specifically meant to be formfitting and supportive of the body. Through patternmaking on Adobe Illustrator, I lasercut four bralettes, designing them so that they did not require any sewing or finishing but rather were assembled through looping and weaving. I then created compositions by pinning these bralettes on the wall, removing the human body and allowing the fabric to express itself in its subtle 3-dimensionality through gravity.
