Commissioned by the 195 Redevelopment District, “I Walk Along This Earth, Therefore I Dream” is a temporary art installation on the cusp of a service road to two major highways, composed of 5 large plywood and plexiglass structures with plants growing at the top. Inspired by organic forms in nature, these objects are symbolic representations of the redevelopment of the land and new growth. It comes from my vision to create odd objects which seem to be growing out of the land and supporting new life. The patterning was inspired by L-Systems, which was then translated into skins for these sculptures, which I fabricated at AS220 on their CNC machine.
