The manufacturing process was inspired by the Bauhaus movement, notably Marcel Breuer who designed the first steel tubing chair. The chair's mild steel structure was machine bent & joined by MIG welding (very fast & neat). The frame was then powder coated black. The seat & back rest was made from plywood that was heat pressed in a mold and finished with real oak veneer. To tie the frame and wood together the chair's legs were finished with lathed solid oak leg tips. All of the timber was treated with Teak timber oil.
To add comfort, quality & value to the chair, I chose genuine kudu leather together with a soft foam & unicurl mix for the cushions of the seat & back rest. The chair's upholstery was designed in such away that It can be easily removed for re-upholstery in the future.
