Josefina Muñoz was born and raised in Santiago, Chile. She received a BFA with honors from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2006), and is currently pursuing her Masters in Fine Arts in Glass at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). With the support of national and international scholarships, grants and awards, she has had the opportunity to undertake numerous specialization studies abroad. In 2007 she opened her own glass studio in Santiago and funded LineaFina, her line of designed glass objects. Josefina shows her work, lectures and develops independent research internationally. Muñoz has participated in Artist in Residence Programs in Scotland (2010) and Germany (2012), and since 2007 has been commissioned to work on diverse public art projects.
Josefina will embark on her next research project in January 2014 with the Turkana nomads of Northwest Kenya and study the relationship between space and place in the sole presence of temporary architecture. Read Less
