Lyons/Zaremba Inc, 2008 - Zoo Miami's 27-acre, $50-million Amazon and Beyond exhibit highlights the brilliant animals of the Amazon Rainforest and colorful Mesoamerican art of the region in a fully-immersive and interactive experience. Fun themed play areas, atmospheric sounds and smells, lots of graphics—plus plenty of elements to push, lift, and touch—create an engaging place for families to learn.
Animal info panels are brightly-colored and textured, and include interactive games to engage visitors. Moving flaps and push buttons activate features like Name That Sound, Howl Like A Howler Monkey, Snake Vision, and Gator Strength. Conservation Stations highlight threatened species of importance.
Wayfinding elements and miscellaneous environmental graphics take on a carved stone look reminiscent of Mayan and Aztec art.
