Description
This body of work was originally shown at a two person show at the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, VT in the July of 2012. A total of ten pieces were installed from a collection of approximately 30 pieces generated. The method of moldmaking and press moulded clay construction allows a multitude of formal experiments to occur. The result is an expansive collection of glazed and fired ceramic objects whose totality is the work of hand and mold made production techniques.

  • Using a series of large hand turned symmetrical plaster molds, individual objects are constructed of various clay sections pressed into form.  This allows a large number of non repetitive works to be created fusing similar formal typologies.  The result is a deep and exhaustive exploration of hand made and formal aesthetics in the context of industrial ceramic production.
