- My wedding invitations
- My wife and I met in high school and had been together for over ten years before we decided to get hitched. Our wedding was to be held on a beautiful, grassy hill on a farm in Charlottesville, VA, with the reception taking place in an old barn. We wanted a rustic-yet-elegant wedding invitation that represented our wedding and our personalities. Since we were to be married on our 11-year anniversary, I envisioned an infographic timeline of our lives showing how long we had been together. A Venn diagram monogram evolved out of this and informed the rest of the design, including icons, a map, and a flow chart. I chose letterpress to bring an intimate quality to the invitations, and I designed with that in mind. The monogram consists of two colors, overprinted to create a third color where they overlap. We packaged them into paper bag-colored envelopes and rubber stamped them to keep with the rustic farm wedding tone and truly reflect our personalities.
