Ben Kiel and I originally designed Cortado as a custom commission by MP Creative for shoe and accessory brand Aldo. After the typeface debuted in the July 2013 campaign “Give Me Aldo,” it was used extensively for their in-store design and e-commerce.
Through a special arrangement with The Aldo Group and Cecilia Carlstedt, a thoroughly overhauled and streamlined version of the typeface is now available to designers everywhere for desktop, web, and app use.
