Description
Frame constructed out of cardboard tubes slip jointed together, done to rework the physical properties of ordinary materials and allow for an interdependence in the strength and stability of the resulting form.
  • Cardboard Tube Frame
    Intuitive manipulation of ordinary material.
  • My frame is a study in manipulating ordinary paper products like cardboard tubes so as to make them interdependent on one another for physical support and stability. A single slip joint is used throughout the piece, thus eliminating the need for glue or other fasteners.

    This tube system began my Design Principles studio in the Architecture Department at the Rhode Island School of Design in the fall of 2011.
