Description
On the West African Writer's perspective.
  • Africa by Africans
On the West African writer's perspective.
  • For my midterm in my Brown University class called "West African Writers and the Political Kingdom," I decided to address the Westerner's lack of awareness about African thought and theory. In class, we had read post-colonial literature by prominent West African writers who were also philosophers, professors, politicians, and presidents. Each of them had different attitudes toward post-colonialism as well as diverse agendas for moving Africa forward. As an introductory educational tool intended for Westerners, I created a fold-out pamphlet that placed each of the profiled writers on a spectrum ranging from "hopeful" to "pessimistic."

  • Full pages of the pamphlet can be read here.
  • Thank you.
