I was commissioned to provide cover concepts for Cell Reports, a peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing research papers across a broad range of disciplines within the life sciences. The brief specified the design to be based on a research paper related to the splicing of mRNA during heart development. I provided two individual designs, one of which was chosen for their June 2020 issue.
