Autonomous Integrated Measurement Unit Design

Budapest University of Technology and Economics 2020

In my examination paper I made a design for an autonomous integrated measurement unitThe autonomous integrated measurement unit is a device, which is able to monitor different working environments - integrated in industrial workplaces and offices - ergonomically. The measurement unit mainly analyses visual environment in the working area, it stops at each workstation and observes its workers during their working process to study how convenient and suitable the station is for them. Besides the measurement unit analyses the working area from climatic and acoustic aspects, scanning the temperature, humidity and noise level.
In the project, I worked with Mátis Gergely, mechanical engineer. The mechanism and construction design of the measurement unit were made by him, so as the static calculation and stabilization. I designed the coverage, considering the shapes which match with the environment and recommendable for the introduction of a new device. Primarily, I wanted to put the emphasis on the connection between the body of the measurement unit and its head design.
At the begining of my examination paper I collected information about the potential users and user environments. I searched rival products at the market and analysed their properties to specify the design direction. After designing the final construction, I made three conception plans from the ideas, and selected one of them to define the proposition of the final product. The final product was named EMU - Ergonomic Measurement Unit.
