Portraits & Drawings

This is a recreation of the photo taken by Steve Mccurry. I call it "Afghan Girl". For my whole life, I loved drawing people, and eyes especially. Growing up, I used graphite pencils for everything. I wanted to learn charcoal for what seems like a long time, and when I finally entered into college, It was actually a requirement! When I drew this, it was my first time creating a portrait in charcoal.
A close-up photo of my drawing, "Afghan Girl".
This is my second portrait in charcoal, and I admit, I am so glad I learned how to use charcoal because it definitely helped me get work done a lot faster. Besides being new to the game of charcoal drawings, this was actually my first time drawing water. Incase it is not clear, this is a drawing of a woman coming out of the water. I had always been fascinated by portraits with water in the photo, so I decided to create my own.
A close-up photo of my drawing, "Submersion".
While this drawing may seem like a random collection of images, actually, it is exactly that. This was one of the assignments in my drawing class. I never understood why we needed to put a giant ear next to a pretty face, but I did it anyways. It fits my creepy/ weird theme I have going anyways. This drawing is made with charcoal, and remains untitled.
