Mycelium Lamp :
Mycelium grows on high cellulose content materials which is widely found in Vegetative waste, Textile waste or wood waste. Mycefer is my brand which aims at designing products with the waste/left overs from textile industries and vegetation industry and give it a new meaning and purpose of existence. It uses air, light and food just like you and me to grow and survive. Uses very sparse energy for its development and is circular in economy. Can make the Styrofoam packaging obsolete. Follows cradle to cradle principle, an initiative to produce this bio material in India.
The scope of this material extends largely from generating materials as hard as wood and as soft as leather, depending on the substrate used and its growing conditions.
Mycelium lamp designed, its fungi grown on the textile waste. Entirely bio-degradable and uses very sparse energy for its growth. Well you may want it to be more finished, but the unevenness and bums make it real. This is how fungi grows, indefinite path and profile. True appearance.
Material being explored and worked upon everyday :)
