Hey Google è una raccolta d’immagini provenienti da Google Street View, che cattura quello che accade, esplorando i margini degli ambienti urbani e culturali di Milano.
Le location e le coordinate, di ogni capitolo, sono state pensate come se fossero parte di una guida turistica della città. Abbiamo selezionato le quattro aree tematiche più ricorrenti ed effettivamente utili per visitare una città: luoghi d’interesse, musei, parchi e shopping, assegnando a ciascuna due colori differenti. Le immagini sono state trattate seguendo questa logica, rendendo ulteriormente surreali i vari ambienti, grazie a un effetto “glitch”, che rimarca l’aspetto virtuale e digitale del programma usato. Il progetto mostra, all’interno delle immagini, oltre al luogo principale, anche delle figure umane, intente a mettersi in posa come se davanti a loro ci fosse un fotografo, o a salutare la macchina di Google. Le foto amplificano il senso di surrealismo, attraverso l’atteggiamento innaturale dei soggetti, giocoso e spensierato, seppure di fronte alla privazione della loro privacy. Nel complesso la guida permette di visitare la città di Milano da una prospettiva alternativa, fornendo uno sguardo voyeuristico.

Hey Google is a collection of images from Google Street View, which captures what happens, exploring the margins of Milan's urban and cultural environments. The locations and coordinates of each chapter were designed as if they were part of a city tour guide. We have selected the four most recurrent and actually useful thematic areas for visiting a city: places of interest, museums, parks and shopping, assigning each one two different colors.
The images were treated following this logic, making the various environments even more surreal, thanks to a "glitch" effect, which highlights the virtual and digital aspect of the program used. The project shows, inside the images, in addition to the main place, also human figures, intent on posing as if there was a photographer in front of them, or to greet Google's car.
The photos amplify the sense of surrealism, through the unnatural attitude of the subjects, playful and carefree, even in front of the deprivation of their privacy. Overall, the guide allows you to visit the city of Milan from an alternative perspective, providing a voyeuristic look.
