Time Lapse

- Morning
- Trees
- Clouds
- Clear sky
- Evening

I filmed these time lapse clips through the setting on my camera, you can set it to a certain length and chose how many photos are taken. I chose to include the time lapse technique in my video to show time passing and the day progressing which is a very important part of shadows. I had an issue when filming the time lapses as I noticed some dust on my camera and it distracted the shots so I had to stop filming and get the right tools to clean the sensor. Eventually I cleaned the sensor and solved the issue. Some of the shots contain the dust but I decided to keep them as they are very strong clips, I decided to try and crop the frame in Premier Pro so the viewer can't see the dust. For the morning time lapse I filmed the sunrising with clouds disappearing and showing a clear sky this is a good shot to start the video as it could show the shadows coming out with the clear sky. I tried to film midday but I feel like those shots didn't work as well as there wasn't much movement in the sky because it was clear, it would of worked better if the sky had clouds moving. I also found that the time lapse looks better if one of the elements is completely still as it emphasises the movement. In one of the shots it shows a clear sky with a tree moving but I didn't like it as the tree looked like it was jolting and it was messy. I filmed the evening time lapse outside the front of my house, I wasn't completely pleased with the composition but I had no choice but the film it upwards as below it was a parked car. I was pleased that I was able to film it going completely dark. I liked the fact that I was able to capture the street light turning on as it got darker. I found that in some of the clips, it showed the movement as separated parts e.g. the sun looking like it has spikes and the sky getting darker but it looks like it is going in lines. I think this happened due to the aperture being to high. Next time I would have the aperture lower so the movement would flow better.
