Google Doodle for Russia National Day 2020. 

Russia is my home country, though I've been living in France since 2010. Nevertheless, this topic made me think about what it is like to be a Russian and what unites us. I also thought a lot about the diversity of Russia and its many different peoples and cultures.

I decided to think about all the people who live in Russia. I wanted to find a way to show its unity and diversity at the same time. So one of my ideas was to put together very different characters and make them dance and play music using traditional music instruments. In other words, having fun together.

I looked at many pictures of different music instruments as well as traditional costumes. Not only Russian ones but also Yakuts, Tuvans, Tatars, etc. Not all of them could make it to the final illustration, as the space is very limited, but I did my best.
