Absent Fathers
Absent fathers is a campaign that educates the public on why it is important for a child to have a father in their life. Also, it is to bring more awareness about the negative impact an absent father has on mother and children. I chose to do my project on absent fathers because I was raised by a single mother. She did everything in her power to make sure I had clothes on my back, food in my belly, and a roof over my head. She made me her number one priority in her life.
The website and posters give the statistical information of how a child without a father in their life effects a child’s mental health, decision making skills and their socioeconomic status. Another set of posters and section on the website provides testimonies from children raised by a single mother and from the single mothers. These testimonies are to give more insight on what children raised by single mother go through and experience.
My approach to the photos is in black and white so that the quotes will be easily seen and create more emphasis on the text. For the statistical posters the illustrations are all monochromatic except for certain items to draw more emphasis to those items. Included on the website is a In Gratitude Wall for children and mothers to thank those who help raise the them or their child. The target audience for this campaign is for young men who may be thinking about having a child.
