Lantern festival is a taoist festival which usually celebrates 2 weeks after lunar new year. The purpose of celebrating this festival is similar to a Cambodian's ceremony to pray to the soul that protect the village - to pray the souls for happiness and business growth. Some important activities of this festival include offering food to the spirit (fruit, candy, praying paper, rice noodle, flower, incense and candle), incense exchange, Pros Prom (to sprinkle water on something repeatedly) and buying "Yuan" (inscriptions or designs on paper or cloth believed to possess magical powers to protect the owner)
