Vietnamese Tet Exhibit: Grant Proposal Renderings, 2013

New Year Gateway: welcoming families to the exhibit through an arch decked out with pink and yellow blossoms and hanging Non La hats.
Kitchen and marketplace: children can shop for groceries in the market to bring home to the kitchen to make dishes in preparation for Tet.
Midnight Moment: a nighttime scene with crackling fire, lantern-lit kumquat tree, and projected fireworks.
Family Portraits at the Altar: a dress-up opportunity to try on traditional Vietnamese outfits. Photos taken with the kiosk appear in digital frames on the wall alongside real photos of Vietnamese families in front of their own altars.
Ba Cua Ca Cop and Bamboo Bridge: children try their skill at traditional Vietnamese games.
Water puppet stage: a "water" table becomes a stage for performing the unique art of water puppetry. A book nook offers Vietnamese folk tales to inspire puppet shows.
Music Pavilion: a place to hear Vietnamese music, see instruments, and sing and play along to Karaoke and Rock Band-inspired digital games.
Lion Dance: children try dancing in a real Mua Lan costume, moving to the beat of the drum and inspired by the dance moves of real Lion Dancers in an accompanying video.
Floorplan: the complete 1,500 square foot exhibition on the left and a pared down version for smaller museums on the right.
