This project was done during quarantine using home equipment and mycelium kit I had at the time. The idea was to utilize mycelium as a footbed of the slippers.

After growing and drying, the mycelium ends up being too dry and brittle to stay on its own. By attaching vegetable tan leather to the top and bottom of the substance, It creates a lamination property of composite material. The composite allows a certain degree of flexibility while keeping everything in shape and light.

The next step is going to be trying to create a more suitable composite in different forms.
