A series I drew in the aftermath of a breakup inspired by the lyrics to Charlotte Day Wilson's song, Mountains.
[journal entry] “she’s just really unrealistic. and i don’t mean her expectations or ideas, but just her existence itself? like, she should just not be a thing. y’know how in life we’re all tasked with socializing each other? constantly deployed to police one another; making sure that the other is adhering to acceptable notions of gender or race or whatever. well, with her it feels like there were just a lot of people sleeping on the job, & the result is is this beautiful mess of contradictions, passions, as well as some genuinely disturbing quirks. and i’m hopelessly attached to all of them.”
