Graphic Design, Level One is an introduction to graphic design and desigh theory. The primary focus of the course is design theory including balance, focal point, unity, visual hierarchy/proximity, repetition, and contrast. Additionally, basic skills in color and typography are introduced. A key emphasis is the importance of communication through the visual solution. In this mid semester project, students are asked to explore advocacy through a poster. In this assignment students research, brainstorm, create and print a public awareness poster. The purpose is to increase awareness around a public issue. All of the work is created using Adobe Illustrator.
