A Film Response

This project was a personal analysis and interpretation of the PBS film, Crash: A Tale of Two Species that dealt with two endangered
ancient species, horseshoe crabs and red knots.  The film explains why the two creatures need more attention to be preserved and how human beings are threatening their life lines.

I felt uncomfortable watching the duality between the voice and images as the process of how the horseshoe crab was explained by "providing" the blue blood that is helpful to our lives.  The fact that we are returning some horseshoe crabs back to nature does not mean that we kill the most, but the voice was minimizing the truth of our cruel treatment by overly emphasizing the number of crabs that survive from the lab.

As a result, I took photographs of similar scenes in the film but with a human substitute and juxtaposed the quotes accordingly.
