Designing the Future of a Smoke-Free World

Context
Within the dynamic landscape of design innovation, a transformative challenge was posed before our international cohort of six designers—a challenge to sculpt the contours of a smoke-free world. Guided by the partnership with Philip Morris International, our diverse team, spanning product design, business communication, management, and engineering, united to shape a vision that transcended boundaries.

Goals
At the epicenter of our collective aspiration lay the mission to reimagine the future—a future untethered from the clutches of smoke. With our multidisciplinary perspectives converging, our goal was to orchestrate a symphony of innovation that would redefine the relationship between individuals and stress, paving the path towards reduced cigarette consumption.

Methods
Our approach emanated from the nexus of empathy and exploration. Embarking on a voyage that traversed Portugal, Poland, and the US, we immersed ourselves in the tapestry of user experiences, harvesting insights that germinated the seeds of transformation.

The culmination of our endeavors was a spectrum of prototypes, each emanating from our iterative crucible. Ranging from the ethereal brushstrokes of low-fidelity to the vivid strokes of high-fidelity, these prototypes were infused with the essence of Feeltr—a customizable embodiment that weaved deep breathing techniques, essential oils, and pure air to cultivate tranquility amidst chaos.

Outcome
Our journey reached crescendo as we unveiled Feeltr—a beacon of serenity tailored to alleviate stress and diminish cigarette consumption. With hearts alight, we embarked on a pilgrimage to San Francisco, Porto, and Warsaw, unveiling our vision to both our industry partner and the discerning eyes of the design community.

The echoes of affirmation resonated, validating our quest to design the future of a smoke-free world. Through the intricate interplay of innovation and collaboration, our symphony of design breathed life into a vision that extends beyond the present, a vision that holds the promise of a brighter, healthier tomorrow.
