November 2019, mechanical engineering students from Universitas Indonesia were helping people at Bungin techno-village make a solar cell lamp. This social movement is called Mechanical Socio-Techno (MST) 2019 held by student organizations Ikatan Mahasiswa Mesin (IMM) 2019 faculty of engineering, Universitas Indonesia. I was the one of staff committees in this event.
Most of them are fishermen who work for middlemen. Middlemen ask a huge percentage of their income from fishing since they have given loans and boats for fishermen. Therefore, people are struggling to live a better life. The government are trying to help this village by built wind turbine and solar cell power generator. Currently, those 3 wind turbines are not fully operated.
The village is located in the estuary. I have never seen a unique location like this before, the village is surrounded by stream and beach. It has a huge potential to be fully crowded by tourists. Nowadays, there are several people who develop this field. They had built a public restroom, some food stalls, and boat tour service.
hoping this village whose people are so warm, could develop and stand-alone in the future.
