Individuals experiencing homelessness are faced with numerous struggles throughout their time on the streets. From not getting enough sleep, food, shelter, or even social acceptance, many of these individuals feel like there is no one out there willing to offer a helping hand. Despite the many services and shelter projects existing today, many of these individuals are oblivious to these services and the positive impact they are able to provide. The Industrial Design team from University of Alberta has been given the task of analyzing the underlying issues individuals experiencing homelessness undergo on a daily basis and attempt to create a feasible intervention that would eliminate the barriers keeping these individuals in unwanted states. The ultimate goal with the intervention is to create a pathway for these individuals to find permanent housing and help integrate them back into society.
