Fish bookbinding in leather can

Fish bookbinding in leather can
This miniature book is a handmade sculpture fish through bookbinding. It contains 132 stitched pages, hand-painted with the fish's herringbone, getting bigger and smaller as it goes. The materials I used to make the fish are: handmade paper, bronze, oxen bone, mother of pearl, polymer clay, Japanese paper with flower motif. No sea material was used for this bookbinding. But a fish out of water needs preservation, which is why its box is a can! The can is made out of cardboard and it is covered with black fish leather, with a perimeter strip of bronze nailed with 27 nails. The shape of the box follows the outline of the fish.
