If there’s a client who understands Mies van der Rohe's motto “Less is more”, it is Google. This “See n’ Say” spot showcases the new features of the redesigned user interface for Google News.
In this project, I was lucky to be a part of the whole process: bouncing the narrative ideas with the amazing designer/director Justin Fines, designing side by side with him, exploring the animation technique and setting every animation key frame.
In this video, I’ve explored the possibilities of mimicking the very tactile stop motion animation technique using a digital medium, I payed close attention to details like the flickering caused by subtle changes of set lights and the secondary movement of handling the camera and pieces while animating.
