“Conversations” is autonomous zine, that documents an interview between Malcolm Garrett, a British graphic designer and Creative Director of Images&Co and Christiana Vakali, an MA Art Direction student at Manchester School of Art. Malcolm talks about the principles behind successful logo design and other contemporary issues related to Branding. He talks about his very first influences of Logo design when he was growing up in the 60’s and how these have shaped his design aesthetic.
He revisits some of his early and late 70’s work in the punk-rock era including the Buzzcocks and shares his opinions regarding similar work. He explains how language comes to play to convey a message to achieve successful communication and shares his opinions how how technological advances may shape design in the future.
