The COVID-19 Face Mask(Made in India)
In the light of recent events, our world is facing a crisis and everyone rich or poor are facing adversities.
This Mask is based on DIY- Do it Yourself concept, anyone can construct/make this mask inside their home with components which are easily available.
The Mask is made up of three components
1)Plastic Shell
2)Fabric Filter
3)Elastic/fabric string
The Plastic Shell
The outer most part is a plastic shell this can be made up of any plastic sheet, polythene bag or any waste plastic just lying around in the house and reuse it to make this mask. The plastic is cut in a rectangular shape and then folded, with the help of needle or any other sharp object to make holes. Now the number of holes is where it gets better, you can have as many holes as you require just keep in mind that you are able to breath easily.
Fabric Filter
For a filter you can use any cloth available in your home, clothes are basically porous material and their pores are of fine size which would eventually filter out and keep you safe from anyone else's cough/sneeze.
Also the number of filters/cloth can be increased as per your own requirement and safety.
The highlighted video shows how the mask can be assembled, once the fabric and cloth are together the sides can be either stitched or closed by heat treatment. And then just attach a thread or elastic band and you can use it easily.
Perks of Using DIY mask
1)Waste Plastic is reused.
2) A commonly observed problem with mask is the inadequate air supply, since the number of holes can be controlled manually air supply can be increased.
3) Once the inside of the mask is infected it can be easily cleaned with sanitizer as the only region contaminated will be the shell.
4)Zero cost, so really helpful for people unable to afford a mask proper mask.
