Idea #1
Designed for those who want to get a professional looking manicure and pedicure out of the comfort their home, Joyful Nails promises to give you just that. It is a nail polish that rolls right off your cuticles while painting your nails- no more messy cuticles! The nail polish rejects your skin, rolling right off it, while giving you a flawless coat on your nail.
Do these brush handles look easy to paint with?
In order to make the painting process even more flawless, Joyful Nail Polishes feature a completely redesigned weighted brush handle. It fits right in the grooves of the handles, making sure you are using great technique and exercising complete control of your brush, so you get a smooth, solid coat of polish with the first stroke.
I was inspired by the brands Peppi Nails and Olive and June, that also specialize in at-home nail kits. Olive and June also created a brush handle that was larger and easier to paint nails with.
Idea #2
Button-Up Laces
These laces were designed for people with special needs who struggle to tie their shoes, and don't want to wear velcro sneakers. Inside the laces are beads that tighten around your shoe and tie themselves all with the click of a button.
I was inspired by my little brother who has special needs and struggles to get his shoes on by himself. He wants to wear popular shoes like the ones above, but feels he can't because he needs assistance.
Color Options
When you order Button-Up Laces you get two automatic laces and a bluetooth button that controls them. All you have to do is put the laces on the shoes to where you want them to tie, then is stick the button (of your choice) to the sides of the shoe and you are done!
For both of these projects, I was inspired by wearable human centered design. Vogue and other fashion magazines leaded me in the direction of these two designs.
