Platonic Solids as Metaphor/Gender Tree of Life

In the interest of simplicity, here is the description text from the original Facebook post:

"Below is a painting I have spent the entire day working on. While it may not seem related at first, this is an abstract painting I have made for TDOV. This is a version of the Tree of Life which has the 5 Platonic solids in a pool of metallic water at the base of the tree. The history behind it is long and complicated but the gist is these five 3-dimensional shapes were believed to make up the basic elements of our universe. This tree is a vast and large being which branches out from 5 basic elements into a wide myriad of branches and avenues.

Humans are much like this tree. Our cultural, psychological, physiological, and social aspects branch from smaller sets of elements into a larger set of elements. Gender is chief among these and despite the narrow set of hardware elements our bodies have, gender exists on a large and arguably infinite (or near infinite) spectrum.
The painting itself is acrylic with watercolor paper and ink based decoupage on a pre-stretched canvas. Some of the elements of the tree are metallic and thus are hard to photograph but I think I corrected it as best as I possibly can to be an accurate photo :)

Anyway happy TDOV everyone and I hope you like my painting "
