Carpentry & Woodworking Projects

Here is a collection of photo's showing some of my carpentry and wood working projects over the years.
I built this box to hold a concertina. It's made from Mohagony, beech wood and rosewood & ebony trim.
The box is finished with shellac and makes a nice display item in my home.
The Stair Way Shown here was Designed by Fred Hyer of "Hyer Arcitecture" and I was recommeded & hired by the owner to build and install the banister and handrail. It's built with brazilian cherry, stainless steel & the rail is douglas fir. This photo was taken before the finish was done. More photo's of this rail project can be seen on Fred Hyer's web site here

Here's a stair case I built  while working for Holland & Harley Construction. It was a very exciting project, building the second story addition but I probably liked building this stair and rail best. I served as a supervisor on this second story addition and in the capacity of "master carpenter" in the building of this stair case. It was a very tricky project, building the post and rail to wrap around the inside wall. The hand rail is an oval shaped rail which I "hand carved" to follow the angle of the stairs.
This project was designed by architect Sara Zimmerman.www.szarchitect.com
The project contractor was Chip Harley.www.hollandandharley.com

Here's a few more shots of that stair rail working up towards the top.
Here's some more stair work. I did this project just before the stair in the previous photo's.This was another second story addition, that I got to project manage while working with holland & harley construction. This was done with painted popular risers and ballasters, oak treads and doug fir rail cap and newl post. All the parts for the stairs were made from raw materials and the doug fir material was done in recycled lumber. The detailing of the stair and design decisions were coordinated by the project contractor chip harley and the home owners gale buckles and todd bazakas.

Here's a shot while under construction.
Same view as the previous photo once I finished.
Here's some more work that I did on the same building project as the stair above. This table and bench was designed by chip harley. Both pieces are done in cherry and the table is fitted with copper.
