Buildings in Budapest - as I see them

Some of these illustrations were made by using traditional tools only; while some of them were done half digitally and half traditionally. 

Most of the times I like to keep the traditional textures, since those can give a timeless impression. But for the lines, digital technique helps them look more clean. 

My intention was to create a rather minimalist atmosphere with using lots of blank spaces. At the same time, I wanted to play with really fine details so viewers could discover something new every time they look at the pictures.

Photo reference was used for each one - I went for a walk in the city several times to collect inspiration - but some details were added by imagination. 

Sizes of the artworks range from B5 to A4.

Tools used: various inks, including Pelikan's Brilliant Black & Adobe Photoshop for the digital parts.
