Iron and Steel is a book project about famous blacksmiths, both historical and mythological. For this project we were tasked with creating a short book using either our own or pre-written content with sources. From the beginning of the project I decided that I wanted to make the cover of my book out of steel. So the construction of my book is a stab bind with book board that has two pieces of sheet steel afixed to either side. I also made a black slipcase for the book with a die cut of an anvil. For the book itself, I made the whole thing black, white, and shades of grey to relate to metal and blacksmithing. I used the font Kirsty Bold for my headers because it was a heavy thick font and I felt it related to the topic of blacksmithing, and I accented it with Acumin Pro Light for contrast.
