Styling two looks on the theme of Met Gala 2020:
"About Time: Fashion and Duration"

The Mystical Merman

The Classic Chanel

First Look: "The Mystical Merman"
The inspiration of our first look was from the Victorian Era. Corsets paired with voluminous gowns was the high fashion of that time. While the women tortured their bodies to present the desired figure, corsets became more like a cage than an attire. Today also we see women wearing corsets but its definition has changed. It is no more considered as a cage or comes with wooden parts like the earlier ones. But gone are the days when clothes used to be gender specific, today both men and women share the similar interest of looking good and feeling comfortable, no matter what they are wearing. Androgynous approach is the new way to fashion today. Its all about being inclusive and neutral.

Second Look: "The Classic Chanel"
In 1910, a cabaret singer started selling designed hats at 21 rue Cambon, Paris in a store named “Chanel Modes”, and so the world eventually found its Coco Channel. Coco is known for couture clothing, accessories, handbags and fragrances. Her style influenced many. The classic black is the Chanel’s signature gown. We designed this look with a fish tail, similar to the basic Chanel’s silhouette that emphasis on the body curves of the model. The gown is layered with a white cloth corset, which is just made out of cloth, making it just look like one!
