I placed the clay into a plate mold, and then placed a leaf into the mold and used a roller to press the leaf into the plate. After, I left the plate dry slowly in a plastic bag. Once leather hard, I added four feet to the bottom of the plate along with my initials. 

The principle of design that best fits this piece is pattern because the leaf pattern on the front of the plate. The pattern was made by pressing a leaf into the clay.

My idea came from a video shown in class. It evolved by adding feet to the bottom of the plate. This plate has symbolism by adding my initials to the bottom of the plate by showing it is my plate.

My strength was placing the clay into the mold and pressing the leaf into the clay. A weakness is using the feet are a little uneven and the plate isn't properly trimmed.
