Bulgarian kukeri are traditionally men dressed as beasts. Kuker Day is celebrated exactly at Sirni Zagovezni in Bulgaria. Their dances seek to drive away evil forces and grant fertility throughout the year. They are dressed in animal skins and bells to carry their dances in the sounds of traditional bulgarian folk music. Under the guidance of the bagpipes, they perform dances unique to their region. In Yambol this year, they once again showed the diversity of tradition to thousands of people from different European countries.
