Here I worked with a client to produce a sturdy garden bench.
I was given specifications for my client's needs and worked closely with my client through sketching and modelling processes until I reached a concluded design.
I charred the large oak sleepers and wire brushed the soft grain out to give the effect of old slightly weathered, but not rotting, railway sleepers. I treated the bench well with suitable oil so as not to incur dark marks on the users clothing and to prolong the life and aesthetic of the timber.
The bench comes apart into eight pieces and fixes together using no glue or screws, making it easy to move and store.
