Pride In London 2019

Pride In London 2019

Marking 50 years since the Stonewall riots on the day of the capital’s largest Pride yet.
2019 marked 50 years since the Stonewall uprising and as Pride in London marked the #PrideJubilee our job was to spread the message of ‘50 Years of Queer Revolt’ to the city, from newspapers to billboards, underground stations to bus stops, East to West.

In order to commemorate such an occasion we set out to create a brand campaign that adequately reflected the history of LGBT+ activism in a way that would be instantly recognisable and definitively ‘Pride in London’
The Concept

Drawing similarities between the Gay rights and Punk movements of the latter 20th century, we took inspiration from the DIY culture surrounding protest focusing on the placards, banners, slogans, fashion and soundtracks that came to define the resistance of the status quo.
The Campaign

The out of home campaign was a full scale print and motion operation to spread the word of Pride Jubilee across the entire city. North to South, East to West, above and underground to help make this the biggest Pride yet.
Piccadilly Lights

We turned the largest advertising display in Europe into another placard.

By placing powerful messages from history on the most prestigious screen as the parade passed through Piccadilly Circus we hoped to create a feeling of celebration in the diversity of statements whilst hitting home the strong message that the fight is far from over.
