For this project, we were required to make a social cause poster for animals. We were supposed to create this project using shapes, pen tools, selection tools, brushes, patterns, text, and/or textures to create a social cause poster. I chose to do an awareness poster for the breed of pitbulls. I have two at home, so I thought this would be good for me to do. I used pixabay for the images besides my dog and the logo. I saw a lot of inspiration on Pinterest that made me want to create a half and half collage of my dog.

First, I started off with a picture of my dog that I took a few months ago.

Then, I clone stamped out her collar and masked her into a different background.

Afterwards, I transformed the image to make it straighter. Then I took these images that I found on pixabay, and turned them into a pattern. Once I did that, I went with the pen tool and selected areas of the image and then put the patterns inside. With each part, I selected a different opacity that I thought would be best fitting for that area of the body. I went through afterwards and shaded in parts of the image where it would have been darker. For example, the rolls on her neck or under her chin.

Once I finished putting in the patterns, I put the image on a black background and added text. 

I found this logo online, I wanted it to match the picture more. So I took the logo in photoshop and changed the colors with color balance and selective color. I changed the text to white and then I tried to match the color that is on her nose.

These are the different mockups that I put together to show what my poster would look like if were to be used as an advertisement, billboard, or a poster at a bus stop.
