The Sun & The Moon
These illustrations are depictions of The Sun and The Moon tarot cards that can be found amongst the 21 major arcana in a tarot deck. The moon is represented by Damien- a fallen angel turned demon- whereas the sun is represented by Gabriel- a very much non-fallen angel. Despite these two being very different, the design choice was to make them mirror each other in terms of pose as well as colour scheme, almost to show that they are two sides to the same coin. Cooler, muted tones are used for Damien and his fall from grace, whereas warmer, golden colours are used for Gabriel to signify his divine holiness.
