Surface Ornamentation

For this particular surface development I followed a very interesting process where I came up with a story which was converted into a concept board and a visual board. Surfaces were derived through these boards and were transformed onto tiles and dinner set.

My story revolves around day dreamers. I don’t say that it is bad to dream but it’s important to work on them in order to achieve desired goals and success.

I took inspiration from technology as it has helped us achieve some amazing dreams like to reach moon etc. For images of inspiration board I choose images like microscopic view of bacteria, blood cells, foot prints on moon and space shuttle. The style board inspired by POP art. To build surface I used different burning technique on a colorful papers, overlapped them and used Photoshop to create variations and came up with surfaces of an eight set of tiles and dinner plates, bowl and drinking glass.
