ORIGIN
Designed in collaboration with kelly lucero hughes, this mat is woven with phragmites - a marsh grass. We hoped to utilize this material in a way that highlighted its natural beauty. The mat is easily folded and rolled for transportation.
PRODUCTION
- Made entirely by hand
- We gathered phragmites and processed it to be a usable weaving material
- Woven on a hand loom with a double weave structure. the color is opposite on the reverse side, shown in the detail image
