My Artwork Entry "Uncaged" for
NAVS' Art For Animals Contest 2019

In celebration of NAVS’(National Anti-Vivisection Society) 90th anniversary, they invited artists of all ages and skill levels to get creative and give a visual “voice” to those who cannot speak for themselves. What does compassion for animals mean? How has society’s view of animals changed over the past 90 years? What will compassion for animals look like in another 90 years? They wanted to see how compassion for animals is pictured.
I empathize with animals that are caged and abused their whole lives for entertainment, i used to like circuses as a child but as I got older I realized the animals were put through pain and suffering to perform for the audiences. Zoos are also guilty of the similar reasons but more to imprisonment, as animals were kept for education and scientific researches. So this was the theme for my entry which I named "Uncaged", I envision the animals to be released back into the wild where its safe for them to roam, while zoos and circuses become a thing of the past.
