This project is done using traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂), a world view centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection, the aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".
The topic we are doing on is called Plague, we shot and produce this video by using items that can be found in every household.
Plague is a disease that affects humans, which we can also interpret it as a flaw or an imperfection in a human being, and this concept links back to to main aesthetic which is wabi-sabi. We try different method to create the effect of virus and bacteria spreading and the grotesque, deteriorating visuals to make it visually appealing but still brings the idea across, and this is our end product.
