A Cadaver's Tattoos (2019)

The illustrations in this project are tattoos from medical cadavers who donated their bodies to be a part of medical training. Please be respectful of the images and what they might represent to living relatives or family of the deceased and do not repost or directly share them anywhere.

Permission to create these illustrations was given by the director of the cadaver lab, and were made by observing cadavers utilized by the gross anatomy students.

To the cadavers and their families: thank you.

Please do not view these images if you might find the contents unsettling, upsetting, or are easily disturbed.

Illustrations were created in watercolor with gel pen and mechanical pencil. The six paintings were done over the course of a month as a final project for an Illustrative Journalism course.
